After our lake trip a couple weeks ago, we started home and could see smoke in the far distance. We thought it looked really close to where our home is located.... Little did we know, it was very close!! Just around the corner from us. This family is in our ward. They were all home playing games, taking naps, and just enjoying their Saturday, when one of the kids looked out the window and saw flames on the side of the house. They all got out safely, thankfully, but they lost everything! Below them, a man was burning weeds and they got out of control and the fire spread quickly up the hill to their house.
On a positive note, our community stepped forward and had bake sales, concerts, and many donations. This family is very happy, and feel that they have had a new beginning. They are doing very well now!! It's just amazing to see how a community works together well and turns tragedies into miracles!
